Compare A Pet is an online comparison shopping engine dedicated to pet supplies. Our goal is to bring qualified buyers who are looking for pet related products to research and buy and then simply match them up with our merchant partners who sell these products.

With our product/merchant information and feedback functionality visitors have the ability to see how much a merchant sells a particular product for as well as having the ability to read and submit ratings and reviews for a particular product or merchant.

For our merchant partners we are a simple monthly subscription model. You pay a small monthly subscription to list your products and with our clean, simple design visitors can do what they came to do – compare, research and buy!

To make it simple Compare A Pet offers only one subscription model. This is a monthly subscription with a small monthly payment of XX payable each month.

4. How do I submit my products to Compare A Pet?

Once a merchant has signed up through the online registration form there are three ways for a merchant to submit their product information.

1.Via a comma separated value (csv) file
2.Via a extensive markup language (xml) file
3.Using the Compare A Pet spider

If either option one or two are chosen then these can be loaded using the merchant control panel. In this area the merchant can select the relevant category, load the file and import the products. It is important to note that the file should be split so that there is an individual file for each category where products are to be loaded.

The following information needs to be provided by the merchant for each product in the CSV/XML file:

Product Code
Product Name
Product Description
Image URL
Product URL
Currency
Currency Symbol
Brand (Optional)


If a merchant does not have the ability to create either a CSV or XML file then once registered simply contact us and request that we use the Compare A Pet spider to retrieve the above information. It needs to be noted that products are not able to be categorized when using the spider therefore if a product being listed does not exist in the database then the product will be deleted.

Once merchants products are loaded then they enter a mapping area where they go through a three stage mapping process.

The first of these is automatic mapping using the product code, the second is a manual mapping process based upon the product name and the final stage is where the product is added if it is not found on Compare A Pet.

5. What reports are available?

Reports are available from within the merchant control panel where you can determine how many clicks have been received on a monthly basis.  

More advanced reports are currently being developed and will be added to the merchants control panel as soon as they are ready for deployment.
